Compensation

You deserve to be generously recognized

Ovita is not a regular sperm bank. We accept only the most exceptional candidates — fewer than 1% of applicants — and we compensate them accordingly. First-time donors start at $3,000, with total compensation varying based on donor type, eligibility for frozen vials, and background.

All medical expenses, screening costs, and legal fees are covered in full. Your compensation is yours, unconditionally.

Motivations

Why men choose to become sperm donors

Every man's reason is his own. These are the most common ones we hear — and all of them are valid.

01

You want to help families

You are moved by the opportunity to give someone the chance to become a parent — and that compassion drives your decision.

02

You want consistent compensation

Sperm donors receive compensation for every donation. Committed donors can earn $1,000–$1,500 per month over the course of their program.

03

You want to know your health profile

The comprehensive medical, genetic, and fertility screening — at no cost — gives you detailed insight into your reproductive health.

Donation Type

Anonymous vs. direct donation

One of the most personal decisions you will make as a donor is whether to remain anonymous or be open to being known. Both are valid — and both are fully supported by Ovita.

🔒

Anonymous Donation

Your identity is never disclosed to the recipient family or any child born from your donation. You contribute privately, with full confidentiality maintained throughout and after the program.

Your name and personal details remain fully private

No future contact or relationship with recipient(s) or donor-conceived children

You need to donate to sperm bank via Ovita

Required follow-up visit 6 months after initial donation based on FDA requirements

🤝

Open-Identity Donation

You agree to allow donor-conceived children to access your identity once they reach adulthood — typically age 18. This gives children the option to learn about their origins if they choose, while still protecting your privacy during the donation period.

Your identity will be shared with recipient

No obligation to have a relationship

Full legal framework in place before any cycle begins no need to have another test in 6 months

Increasingly preferred by families building donor-conceived families

Your preference is discussed during your initial consultation. You can ask questions and take time to decide — there is no pressure either way.

Common Questions

Frequently asked questions

Will donating sperm affect my fertility?

No. Sperm is produced continuously throughout your life. Regular donation does not reduce your sperm count, quality, or future fertility.

How often do I need to donate?

Most programs ask donors to commit to 1–3 donations per week for 6–12 months. The schedule is flexible and built around your availability.

Is the process private?

Yes. All donations are collected in a private, comfortable room. Your identity is kept confidential unless you choose an open-identity arrangement.

Can I remain anonymous?

Yes. Ovita offers both anonymous and open-identity donation. We will explain all options during your consultation so you can choose what feels right.

What are the health requirements?

You must be in good general health, non-smoker, free of genetic conditions, and meet height/weight standards. We screen for infectious diseases and genetic markers.

Can I withdraw from the program?

Yes. You can choose to stop donating at any time, though we do ask for advance notice so families relying on your donations can plan accordingly.

Ready to begin your donor journey?

Applications take about 15 minutes. There is no obligation, and our team is available to answer every question along the way.
